The ultra-luxury sector of the residential market is really starting to establish itself and confirms that international investors are seeing real value in Cayman real estate product.
There has been remarkable recent activity in the $3 million and higher market in high-end residential homes.
The market in this case appears to be made up of both local buyers and those from overseas looking to have their own space while they live here, either temporarily for a few months of the year, or permanently.
During the last nine months, the market has been extremely buoyant. The buyer’s market of the last few years is giving way to a seller’s.
Growth is centred along Seven Mile Beach for condominiums, and Cayman Kai, on the island’s north, for single-family homes. (more…)

At present, the family-owned resort has 40 beach view rooms, dining, swimming pool with poolside bar, day spa, fitness center, tennis and volleyball courts and gift shop, all on a four and a half acre privately owned beach on the Southwest end of Cayman Brac.
Upgrades will include a new multi-level bar, freeform resort pool, upgrades to all of its 40 rooms, and resort-wide renovations.
Brac Reef Beach Resort is one of the newly crowned Trip Advisor’s Hall of Fame winner, a new award that recognise recipients that have consistently received positive ratings and have earned Certificates of Excellence over a five year period.
Brac Reef Beach Resort boasts the best resort diving experience in Cayman Brac, and treats divers to a one-of-a-kind valet diving experience to explore unique reef, wall and wreck dive sites.
Once the upgrades are complete the resort, that will be renamed to Cayman Brac Beach Resort, will truly be the ultimate divers’ paradise, which will also be ideal for travellers seeking a relaxing Caribbean retreat where the adventures of the sea is enhanced by the experience of the resort.
Completion of the project is aimed for November, the start of Cayman Islands tourism high season.

Just over a year after opening Health City Cayman Island has been awarded the gold seal of approval from Joint Commission International, and now is part of an elite club of top-class hospitals around the world.
Health City is only the second hospital in the Caribbean, after the Doctors hospital in the Bahamas, to receive the international accreditation from the international arm of the accrediting organization for hospitals in the United States.
The hospital already receives a number of U.S. patients but is still running far below capacity at around 22 percent. The accreditation will help boost the numbers higher and the head of medical services, Dr. Abraham “hopes to have the facility running at 75 percent to 80 percent capacity by the end of the year”.
The vision of the hospitals founder, Dr. Devi Shetty, has always been to bring affordable, quality healthcare to the Americas. The biggest hurdle in the way of this has been getting recognition from major U.S. insurance companies; this accreditation will make it easier for insurance companies to send to the Cayman Islands. When people think of the Cayman Islands, most people think of no direct taxation, great weather, beautiful beaches, amazing diving and stunning Caribbean natural beauty. What people don’t necessarily think of is Cayman’s fantastic world-class food scene that has exploded over the last couple of years.
International and local chefs continue to open fantastic restaurants in Cayman bringing a fantastic mix of Caribbean and European influences to the Islands, and with many Cayman eateries adopting the farm-to-table movement its not only high quality seafood on offer.
The farm-to-table movement not only brings healthy, fresh and local produce to Cayman plates but also keeps money in local pockets. When dining in Cayman you can be eating the fish from its waters and the vegetables from its land. (more…)

Health City Cayman Islands (HCCI) celebrated its 1year anniversary of the hospital’s grand opening on Wednesday (25th February 2015)
During the first year HCCI has treated 2,500 patients, performed close to 200 procedures (including Cayman’s first ever coronary artery bypass graft surgery and first left ventricular assist device heart surgery), started an inaugural internship program, and launched the first Caribbean stroke prevention study.
The new medical facility, founded by Narayana Health’s Dr. Devi Shetty, offers affordable, world-class healthcare to Caribbean patients as well as its regional neighbors. Dr. Shetty was Mother Teresa’s physician and was inspired by her compassionate ways. Health City Cayman Islands is part of her response to bring high-quality, affordable healthcare to all in need, especially to those who may not be able to afford it. (more…)
