Last week Cayfilm announced the final pieces of the film festival. Most notably is the Thursday night event at Camana Bay which opens the festival with the Caribbean Premiere of ‘Serena’, a drama starring ‘Hunger Games’ Academy Award® winner Jennifer Lawrence and ‘Limitless’ Academy Award® nominee Bradley Cooper.
The film is set in the North Carolina Mountains during the late 1920’s and features Serena, played by Lawrence, and her husband George, played by Cooper, as two newly-weds who go on to build a timber empire.
After the premiere at Regal Cinemas, the Camana Bay and Grey Goose will host the VIP star filled after-party which is sure to kick Cayfilm off in grand style.
Cayfilm has also announced the showing of ‘Can’t Stand Losing You – Surviving the Police’ on Friday the 19th at Camana Bay. The film is based on Police guitarist Andy Summers journey from his early days with The Animals, to the chance encounters with Sting and Stewart Copeland which led to the formation of the ‘Police’.
Alexa Pena Vega, famous for her role in the Spy Kids movies in the early 2000’s and Australian actress and model Nicky Whelan also announced that they will be attending Cayfilm.
All the films and guest have now been announced and all that is left is for the red carpet to be rolled out on Thursday. For more information about schedule information, ticket prices and guests have a look at their website www.cayfilm.ky.
