Cayman Brac lies about 145 km northeast of Grand Cayman and 8 km east of Little Cayman. It was the first of the islands to be discovered by Christopher Columbus in 1503 due to its 43 m bluff that it takes its name from. The island is roughly 19 km long, with an average width of 2 km.
